The delicate features and rounded shapes of young girls’ dolls found in ancient Greek ruins inspired the reproduction of this articulated doll. The replica, inspired by dolls in the museum’s collection at the Getty Villa and other collections around the world, is made of a resin material that mimics ceramic. The doll has arms and legs that bend at shoulder, elbow and knees. Her carefully coifed hair is carved into the head in a traditional style of ancient times. The doll is about 7” tall and comes boxed with stand and educational story.

C - Head of Venus
This beautiful resin reproduction is of a diminutive bronze head of Venus, the goddess of love and desire, in the museum's antiquities collection at the Getty Villa. One delicate gold and pearl earring remains in her left earlobe and the resin finish has been burnished to look like the ancient metal. This reproduction is about 5 ˝” tall (including stand) and comes boxed with educational text.
D - Horse on Wheels
This wheeled toy horse was inspired by those made for children over two thousand years ago and is inspired by pull-toys in the museum’s collection at the Getty Villa and other collections around the world. Made of resin with a finish that mimics clay, the horse is detailed with whimsical carved decorative designs and evokes the delight of a toddler pulling his horsey throughout the day. In order to safely stay on a desk or shelf, the replica is made without working wheels. Resin horse stands about 6” H and comes boxed with educational insert.
